Day 3 - Week 8 - Surprises in the Mail
It seems the older I get the
more excited I become about mail. Is it the fact
that I am pleasured by the simple things in life, or
is it that a piece of mail reflects that someone has
taken the time to write something down, but it in an
envelope, address and put a stamp on it, post it,
and it’s all for me. That is really quite something
today, especially in our world of instant
gratification via email and the like.
“If you want to get my
attention write to me” was a comment from a
person who holds a position of importance in our
government. Continuing on, he stated that a
personal letter got past the staff and always landed
on his desk. This is a good tip to remember.
I went to the mailbox first
thing when I came home from work today. The usual
junk mail outweighed the good mail 5 to 1, but much
to my surprise The Institute For Vibrant Living’s
offering to ‘occupant’ caught my attention.
On the back of the envelope it
read: “Whatever health challenges you’ve been
facing (well, that fits) they will improve or
disappear altogether, (that’s hopeful) once
you try a NEW super food green drink (I am
currently drinking a green drink) that’ll you
regain all the energy and wellness you thought was
lost.”
Most of us, and I’ll bet a
nickel that is 95% of us toss the junk mail without
even sneaking a peak, but when the words resonate
with where we are at the time we are inclined to
have a look.
The advertisement continued;
(remember in our family if it is advertised on
television as an infomercial you can not purchase
it) “Best of all, it’s easy to stick with it
because it tastes so good. Maximum energy lift
guaranteed or your money back. Your brand new
energized body waits inside.”
Once the last line was read I
was sold. Sign me up. All I have to do is drink my
green drink and no more gym. Abs of steel, and all
for $2.00 a day.
Actually, on the prowl for
anything to boost the immune system so that I can #1
– process the chemo therapy well #2 – get my cancer
into remission #3 – create a preventative strategy
so that it does not re-occur, and if it does with
less intensity.
I probably will not purchase
everything that is advertised through the mail, but
I must admit the ingredients in this drink rank high
on the scale of smart food. I will give it a try
for one month and report back.
